Research on Dolphins

More than twenty recognized authorities bring together their expertise in this volume, to provide an authoritative survey of the present state of knowledge on the biology of dolphins and to point the way for future research. The book is divided into four parts. Part I deals with anatomy and physiology, and includes chapters on the dolphin brain, a subject of particular interest. Part II is concerned with dolphins in captivity: their capture, transport, and husbandry, as well as management of pool water. In Part III, the behaviour of dolphins in the wild is surveyed; chapters on diet and on the phenomenon of stranding are included.
